lyrics
You can look but you cannot touch
Though it seems that it’s been far enough
Further up the road lies the unknown
For you don’t know what is coming ‘til it comes.
You can climb to the mountaintops,
Fade away in the ocean’s drops,
But you’ll have to atone when you finally come home
For you don’t know what is happening when you’re gone.
And this road, it’s long
I don’t know just where I’m going
In the smile of someone born blind
There are sounds that they know better than I
But further up the road lies the unknown
For you don’t know what is coming ‘til it comes.
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
