Memorial 04:33
Surrender my heart to fire And settle my mind to ease Open the latch to vastness And carry me on the breeze When the light of the day has vanished Cradle me off to sleep Memories lost in crimson Miles of field aflame Grasses that bow in failure And long for a passing rain Whenever this heat is vanquished Remember me back in place Sing me a song of colour A promise you vowed to keep Honour to save my letters To tend under lock and key When the light of the land has perished Deliver me out to sea
2.
Wide open body and soul Left in the cold When all hope is dead in the road The sun still rises to light my way Night brings an endless ride Killing time Eyes wide, weeping with the whipping rain Run the wickets every day No escaping, mistaking your face in the mirror It seems so clear, seems so near Don’t say the sun still rises to light my way Run rampant, ebbing in and out of control Picking out the pepper and playing the role Of born killers, rattled and sprung from the hole Don’t say it feels like a real commitment, It feels like we’re wearing thin It feels like a real commitment It feels like we’re wearing thin We’re living in the same predicament But you don’t know the state I’m in Long broken, shedding off my body and soul When all hope is left in the cold, dead in the road Don’t say the sun still rises to light my way

Keeping all His servants clean In my way Sacred is the past redeemed If they could say it to my face Cannons that bleed, verses that kill Felons from the bush track, head for the hills Because I’m adamant, with a cross to bear But still, there’s ink on the page I’ll be lucky to clear my name I’ll be taking all your veiled reprieves To my grave Revel in the remedy I will preach ‘till the skies sing my refrain Houses that leak, windows that stain I was in the room when it all when up in flames And the whole thing fell in place But still, it’s ink on the page I’ll be lucky to clear my name How many pawns to save And heal their shame Open their hearts to faith And kneel in vain Heavy the price to pay That seals their fate What is a child to say? I feel the same Ash in the winds of reason Lined to the wreath Confessions to spill Zealots in the wood-shack armed to the hilt And I’m their clean slate With a cross to bear
4.
Show me another day Another life To piss away I see my life in grays Frame by frame, It slips away Under my breath Out of my famed control, I’m not gonna lie You’re one of my best One of my favourite toys Along for the ride No chance to turn my gaze Turn my fate Dislocate Can’t seem to recognize Burning bright In silver light Up to neck Up to my weight in gold With a heart full of iron You’re one of my best One of my favourite toys Along for the ride Brace to hold my chair Get up, dressed before the neighbourhood Graced to hold my grail Raise the cup And taste the words I share It’s off your paper route

Syndicate II 06:45
Nights trapped in jackets And days were hanging by a thread While the lowlives kept the lights on And a hard earned living off the grid The syndicate ill-fated, Still swingin ‘till the end, Never got the chance to reach their comeuppance Or reminisce the golden age of velvet In the twilight of their career I first of their existence on a lark Through the crack of a manhole cover As I stumbled off the curb outside my haunt Where city veins flow rich to the heart And pump their spoils through shafts in the dark Scrape the dying ember from the ash into the fray Scrape the dying ember from the ash into the fray Where I can see through That’s where I can see through Scrape the dying ember off the path into the fray Where I can see through For a life I can see through Sure fire escape Designed like any other off the take, and down the drink We reached the rally point at midnight on the nail But the moment felt amiss Teeth-click turned to rattle and shattered off the tongue Dripping wet from rains that yet hadn’t let up for a month Stood a sodden sack of crooks At odds on tenterhooks Helpless in the tunnels as they slithered up above Waste you wicked vermin down the shaft to interchange Waste you wicked vermin down the shaft to interchange Where I can see you That’s where I can see you A cold blue chill billowed through the tunnel walls And as the torrent took the spill-way There roar of our impending fate began to fall Rats scattered through cracks Pipes swelled to seal the trap Now we’re a long hard lost cause Still haunting the crooked mazes underground Our reign unmeant to behold
6.
Heavy through the darkness, Steady down the rail The conductor surveys her periphery for movement beyond the track Silhouettes of distant tree-lines loom with eternal depth Break-neck speeds bend the edges of pine in cedar Into wispy streams of horizon And down the narrow path between thick unknowns, She reflects Her deep ruminations unlock the gates to contact beyond the firmament Through it’s solace, she connects with her mirrored spirit Shining her ethereal image with affinity and grace No cluster of light can spoil the vast tranquility of her shadowed paradise And in this moment she is at peace in it’s aura Modernity cannot disturb the miles of solitude she passes with ease The low-roar of the engine fuels her motoric mind Helming 8000 tons of cold steel and iron She guides the snake of wisdom on the tip of its silver tongue Without contest, without trial Each bend answers its own question And each straight carries this truth to the next She is not gliding towards her destination This is her destiny This is her chariot This is her kingdom
